Beaten paths towards the transnational corporate elite

The transnationalization of economic activities has fundamentally altered the world. One consequences that intrigued scholars is formation a transnational corporate elite. While literature tends to focus on topology board interlock network, little known about its driving mechanisms. This article asks question: what are trajectories elites follow in expansion this network? To answer this, authors employ novel approach models using their appointment sequences. findings show there six expand network. argue while elite network appears as global social structure, generating mechanisms regionally organized. corroborates earlier fragmentation control, but also provides insights into how was shaped over time.
